mrs. kotyk: Student opportunities associates (soa)
Mrs. Melissa Kotyk was born and raised in Wasilla, Alaska. After graduating from Wasilla High School, she moved to Juneau, AK and worked for the State of Alaska for several years. There, she met her husband, and the two of them moved back to Wasilla to start a family.
She took time off work to raise her two children, both of which started school at American Charter. After volunteering in the classroom for a couple of years, she began teaching as a substitute, and then was offered the position of SOA. Mrs. Kotyk has now been working at AMC since 2020. She says she really enjoys being part of a community of education and hard work. Mrs. Kotyk’s hobbies include soccer, swimming, biking, cross-country skiing, and spending time with her family.
