Mrs. Kerkove: Primary Prep (k-1st Grade) Teacher
A lifelong Alaskan, Mrs. Jonquil Kerkove has spent all of her years in the valley. Her parents, retired now, were both educators in the MSBSD. Jonquil married her high school sweetheart. They have four beautiful children; Jamie, Lander, Korbin, and Paxson who have all attended AMC.
Mrs. Kerkove received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Alaska, Anchorage in 2004. In 2014 she became a primary prep teacher at AMC. She never turns down a hug from former students and gets a laugh when they grow taller than her. In the winter months, she enjoys trips to the cabin with her family, which involve snowmachining, ice fishing and cabin chores. During the summer months, she enjoys everything outdoors! You might see Mrs. Kerkove at the ballfields watching her kids play baseball or her happiest place…on the water fishing.
