ms. Farren: Principal
Ms. Patti Farren is the daughter of George and Pat Farren and was born in Carson City, Nevada She moved to Alaska when she was seven with her parents and three older siblings. Ms. Farren lived in Alaska until 2007 before moving to Western Washington, and then later to the Big Island of Hawaii.
Ms. Farren’s educational career began in 1998 and has included several roles: working as a classroom teacher as well as a principal-teacher in Tok and Tanacross, AK, starting an after-school program and teaching 7th grade Language Arts in Tacoma, WA, working as a school Improvement Specialist and Title I Program Manager for the Department of Education & Early Development in Juneau, providing professional development for the West Hawaii Complex Area teachers in Hawaii, and supervising PreK – 2nd grade teachers as a vice-principal at Waikoloa Elementary & Middle School. Ms. Farren earned her B.Ed. in Elementary Education and her M.Ed. in Administration from the University of Alaska Southeast and her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Washington Tacoma.
She joined the AMC community as principal the Fall of 2021. Ms. Farren appreciates being back in Alaska, supporting families, and watching AMC continue to flourish. When Ms. Farren isn’t working, she enjoys taking long walks, cooking for loved ones, and reading a good book. What brings Ms. Farren the most joy is spending time with family, her two adult children, and five grandchildren.
