AMC Charter School STructure

Charter schools in Alaska

Alaskan charter schools are public schools that are approved by a local school district and the State of Alaska.  Charter schools in Alaska offer alternative educational programs that are different from the local school district and are governed by an elected board called the Academic Policy Committee (APC). The APC ensures the charter school fulfills its charter and adheres to federal, state, and local laws and policies. Alaska Charter schools are guided by state statutes, school district policies, charter schools’ charters, and APC bylaws.

The APC meets at least four times per year and oversees the operations of American Charter Academy. To view the APC board's bylaws click here.
